The ArchiveSoon to be released is The Archive our own on line searchable video and film library see www.archivefilm.tv The Archive includes rare and unique 16mm amateur footage dating back to the early 1920’s .This material has been carefully selected for its content in terms of location, subject matter and historical importance rather than a bland collection of family orientated scenes. Much of the footage has been shot in colour and includes invaluable street scenes shot throughout the globe. Since 1932 the introduction of 8mm colour film meant that many historical and social events have been filmed in colour at a time when the media were filming in black and white. Much of this so called amateur material was shot to a very high standard . Kodak released super 8mm film in 1965. This proved to be more reliable and less trouble than its predecessor standard 8. As a consequence new compact cameras were introduced making it possible for the amateur film camera to be taken by soldiers to the front line including Vietnam. Whenever it comes on the market we have endeavoured to add this rare footage to our library. Over the years we have built up an extensive video tape library of both historical, human social and scientific interest. shot around the world. The material has been compiled from Roving Reports stories produced by Media Impact for WTN.
